our history

Greg and Diana West brought their family to Vineyard Church North Phoenix and started attending a small group in 1997. This was the first time they have ever attended a church together as a family. Within a year they were small group leaders in a basic transformational program called Celebrate Recovery. Eventually Greg had grown into a staff position as the Celebrate Recovery Coordinator and for almost 10 years led the large ministry until he and his wife Diana felt called to plant a church.

Planting the church

Victory Vineyard Church was sent off February 23, 2008. Meeting as a home group in the West Valley for a few months until they quickly established a place to meet at the Bennett Academy School. VVC went public opening their doors in September of 2008 as a Vineyard Church Plant. After several years they outgrew their space and Greg began the task of looking for a larger building. Knowing that the church was called to the Sunny Slope community from the start, it wasn’t surprising the building we moved into was in plain sight of the “S” on the mountain off of Hatcher. Before they did a grand opening for the church, it needed an expansion from the first suite they leased. Nine months later VVC was able to gain three suites giving the church a great start and the space it needed to reach the Sunny Slope Community.

Moving forward

In 2015 VVC was given the honor by Vineyard USA to be called a church. No longer were they just a church plant. This was a great victory!

In September 2015, VVC celebrated its largest baptism event. In May 2016 VVC suffered the loss of its pastor, Greg West.  Diana West who holds a Masters degree in Professional Counseling and a Expressive Arts Therapy degree stepped up and accepted the calling God placed on her life to become the Senior Pastor in August 2016. With the support of a new leadership team, Diana's family, the Board of Directors, and the Southwest Region VVC continues to support the Sunny Slope community.

2020 has brought many challenges. Meeting on line, in zoom rooms our community is still strong, "Small but Mighty".

VVC is remodeling for the 2021 New Year and will be launching February with a strong Vineyard Arts program for the community, with weekly groups and classes as well as our church members.
